Pasquale from PosiGen was very informative, answered all our questions. He gave a time line for the installation and it was right on schedule.

I could reach out to him at anytime with questions and he would also get back to me with in a couple of hours.

Pasquale and his team were fantastic to work with, polite , respectful and friendly. I give Posigen 5 stars

A saleman came to my house and lie about everything! He said that this is a contract that can be canceled at anytime!

Also , be prepared for winter because there’s their changes PLUS eversource bill which it doesn’t look too good!

I referred someone and got $$ I keep calling to ask when Am I going to receive this credit and they just keep telling me that someone will call me back!

Also, every time you call customer service… they can’t never help you with anything! They say that someone else will reach out to help with the issue BUT THEY NEVER CALL! You be sitting there for 2 – 3 months waiting and they just wont contact you!

Contract was showing a different date than the actual installation date, when I call to correct it they say they can’t modify the contrAct. How can you have a contract that says installation date January when it was done in October!

Worst COMPANY EVER in my whole life!!! Please dont do it. Its a life contract basically and you can’t cancel it!!!!!

They’re a scam, my panels have been installed for 8 months but nothing has been connected. Every time i call its a different reason why. Their customer service is awful and rude. They don’t care about the quality or finishing their work only the quantity of what they start so they can start billing you

Install was supposed to take 5 hours and have all electrical hidden in attic. Install team never came inside and instead put silver conduit all over the roof which looks commercial. They left during the first day, no call no showed day 2, no call no showed day 3 (after saying they’d be there both days), said they’d come on day 4 which they did at 3pm (the window they told me was 8am-noon), but stayed for only an hour or so, showed up late day 5 and finally finished. They left screws on the roof and in the driveway. One punctured my tire when I got home, more screws fell off the roof in the rain onto my deck, driveway, and yard along with metal brackets. After spending 3 months getting ignored trying to get them to replace the tire. They reluctantly agreed and made me sign a a contract saying they would pay me within 30 days. After 35 days and no payment, I kept getting a run around saying they will overnight it. Next day still no check and no response when I call. Next day still no check and no response. Then they tell me they will now overnight it (after they allegedly already did). Didn’t receive the check until 4 more days via FedEx. Everyone was rude, does not return voicemails, sloppy work, poor panel placement with room for more, but no one would let me speak to someone about positioning. Terrible company. They’re a bunch of criminals, go anywhere but here.

Awful! My panels were installed last year and I’m STILL waiting for them to come fix my inverter box that reports to the grid! I have a faulty inverter box but my panels are working. So I am not able to consume what my panels picked up. Countless emails are sent with NO response! I’m also owed $1000 payment for a savings guarantee and they won’t respond to that either. I’m most upset because my system hasn’t worked from DAY 1 at all! They won’t even come out to see what the problem is. They just tell me over the phone that my panels are consuming. I explain that my inver box is not installed correctly, it won’t even turn on and it’s not reporting to the grid! For example in July my panels gained 900 kw and my household used 750kw so I should have 150 kw in credit. Nope, I get charged the full 750 kw usage because my box is not reporting to the grid. I have so much proof and everything I need to prove my system is faulty and they are still charging me monthly to pay for it and they are REFUSING to come fix it. Next step is the attorney general and a lawyer to break my lease. If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible, stressful and extremely unfair.

Update: April 2024

A rep saw my review and asked me to contact them to fix the situation. They are still untrustworthy and they don’t seem to mind wasting your time. Kept me on the phone for an hour only to say the same thing they did last time I tried calling. Still don’t recommend. Save your time and money and go with Sunrun.

Original review: My husband and I first started looking for solar in 2019. PosiGen had the best deal and we had our panels installed in April 2020. We ended up having the panels for around a year before we went to sell our home. I don’t have any big complaints during this time, their customer service was eh. Around this time was when we decided to sell our house and thus, the panels! When we went to sell the buyer requested that the panels be removed. This wasn’t a financial option for us to cancel the contract, so we ended up opting to have the panels moved to our new house. When I contacted PosiGen they told me that they would remove them, store them and reinstall at no cost to us as long as we continued to make the monthly payments. We went ahead and the panels were removed. After closing on our new house we had the roof replaced which took a few months, during which time we continued paying the monthly payment and kept in contact with various reps from PosiGen. Once the roof was finished I reached out multiple times in calls, emails and texts, over the course of 6-8 weeks. I never received a response. Finally my husband called the sales dept and explained our situation to the rep who answered. When the rep looked into it he apologized and told us the panels were damaged in storage and couldn’t be used any longer, But he could sign us up for a new contract with the same price and conditions as our previous contract. The next rep we spoke to said our panels hadn’t been damaged, they were lost. No one knew where they were located. Another rep explained that it was actually that the panels were just out of date and not up to code to be reinstalled. They were very apologetic and several of the reps suggested that they reimburse us for the payments we made during the time we were waiting, which was roughly $1200. I agreed and after signing contracts I spoke to them again about the reimbursement and they asked if it was ok to credit our account for the amount. I agreed and moved forward with the contract. We waited a full year for install, reaching out multiple times and not hearing back. Once when I called I was told that through some error, our project had not been assigned a project manager and so had been basically put on hold for months. I had to call 3 more times after that, each time someone promised to “look into it and get back to me”. They never did. Finally I talked to a Sunrun rep who was not only super helpful, but absolutely appalled at the treatment we had gotten from PosiGen. He offered us a sign on bonus of $1200 if we cancelled our contract with PosiGen and went with sunrun. Our panels were installed through sunrun in less than 30 days and they were turned on 2.5 months later.

When I called PosiGen to ask for them to cancel my contract, I also emailed the billing department for them to just cut me a check for the reimbursement as there wouldn’t be an account to credit. The woman I spoke to sent me an email stating that she had spoken to her supervisor about it and they would be sending me the check. Of course I never heard back. When I called again and spoke to the supervisor she insisted that I would have had to make the payments anyway so I wasn’t entitled to any refund and that woman hadn’t verified anything with her. I tried speaking to someone higher up as I did have proof in writing that they had agreed, but of course never heard back.

I was fine with washing my hands of the whole experience. But after all of that stress and aggravation I had dealt with, PosiGen called me today to try and sell me solar panels… when I tried to briefly explain my history with them, he hung up on me. 0 stars – would not recommend, even to my worst enemy.

Reviews

Positive Reviews

  1. “Easy Peasy! All I can think of is No Hassle! I love no hassle! Like I’m broke and they made it affordable for me! Hands down! Best price! Best agent! Ariel! Seriously though… getting my solar and roof…wowwww!!! EASY PEASY!!! I am really pleased! This is real stuff!”

Negative Reviews

  1. “Poor Service: The work was shabby and I had to complain to get them to come back to redo the conduit. It was all over the exterior wall in a weird pattern. The inspector never came to look at the work. Never heard from them after the installation to let me know when my service would begin. My electric just goes out one day when the person came to install the new meter. On top of that, I get a call from them the other day to tell me that the rate increases $.50 each month for the next 25 years. Never heard that from them before. Their selling point was that the rate would be $45.00 a month for the next 25 years. I can’t deal with the lies!”
  2. “Utility Bills did not get lower: Was promised lower utility bills from the salesman but the bills did not decrease they went up, further than that the utility company is telling us the panels do not work! also when we called in to ask to have a technician come out to check the panels they said no because it’s not an emergency on the computer screen they view, poor customer service and no help whatsoever.”
  3. “The team at SolarEmpower have compiled an expert review of PosiGen, covering customer satisfaction, costs and legitimacy – read on for more!”

Our Recommendation

PosiGen, a leading solar company, has been making waves in the renewable energy sector. With a mission to make solar energy accessible to homeowners of all income levels, PosiGen has been a game-changer in the industry. But how does it fare when it comes to customer satisfaction, services, warranties, financing options, and certifications? Let’s delve into these aspects to provide a comprehensive review.

Customer Reviews

Customer reviews are a critical factor in evaluating a company’s performance. PosiGen has received mixed reviews from its customers. Some customers have praised the company for its affordability and seamless installation process. However, others have raised concerns about service quality and unexpected rate increases. It’s important to note that PosiGen has responded to these negative reviews, indicating a commitment to customer satisfaction.

PosiGen offers solar and energy efficiency leasing and purchasing for homeowners across the U.S. They provide solar panels and energy efficiency audits, aiming to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints. Their services are designed to be accessible and beneficial to homeowners of all income levels.

Warranties

PosiGen provides warranties for all roof work and solar installations. They use high-quality mounting hardware and have qualified installers, which results in a seamless installation with a reduced chance of leaks. However, specific information on equipment and workmanship warranties is not disclosed.

Financing Options

PosiGen offers two different payment models: lease and purchase. With a lease, PosiGen installs, maintains, and monitors the system at no upfront cost to the customer. They also provide a 25-year lease with predictable monthly payments, shielding customers against the volatility of energy prices.

Licenses, Certifications, and Insurance

PosiGen holds contractor, electrician, and other related licenses in various places, including Connecticut. They also carry general liability, workers’ compensation, and property insurance.

PosiGen has made commendable strides in making solar energy accessible to a broader demographic. Their services, warranties, and financing options are designed to cater to a wide range of customers. However, the mixed customer reviews highlight areas that could be improved, particularly in terms of service quality and transparency.
